Using the IVF Due Date Calculator

Input the date of your embryo transfer, along with the length of your menstrual cycle, and the calculator will generate an estimated due date based on this information.

It's important to note that IVF due dates may differ from those calculated through natural conception, as they are based on the timing of embryo transfer rather than ovulation.

Understanding IVF Due Dates

IVF due dates are calculated based on the date of embryo transfer, which typically occurs a few days after fertilization. Unlike natural conception, where due dates are calculated from the date of ovulation, IVF due dates are determined by the stage of embryo development and the timing of embryo transfer.
Please keep in mind these are estimated due dates based on methods published by The American College of Obstetricians And Gynecologists.1  This tool is for general information purposes and is not meant to serve as medical advice. Please be sure to speak with your healthcare provider about your due date.

 3-Day Embryo Transfer

You can select “3-day transfer” from our calculator, or add 263 days from the transfer date to calculate your estimated due date.

5-Day Embryo Transfer

You can select “5-day transfer” from our calculator, or add 261 days from the transfer date to calculate your estimated due date

If you have an embryo transfer date of more than five days, simply subtract that number from 266, and add the difference to your transfer date to find the due date. For example, if you had a 7-day embryo transfer, your estimated due date would be 259 days after the transfer date.

Factors Affecting IVF Due Dates

Several factors can influence IVF due dates, including the type of embryo transfer (fresh or frozen), the number of embryos transferred, and individual variations in menstrual cycles.
For example, in cases of frozen embryo transfer (FET), the date of embryo transfer may be delayed until the optimal uterine lining is achieved, resulting in a later estimated due date. Additionally, variations in menstrual cycle length can impact the accuracy of due date calculations.

Tips for Accurate Calculations

It's important to track your menstrual cycles carefully and provide accurate information when using the IVF due date calculator. Consulting with your healthcare provider can offer valuable insights and guidance throughout the IVF process, including confirming your estimated due date and monitoring the progress of your pregnancy.

Next Steps

Once you've calculated your IVF due date, it's time to prepare for the next phase of your journey! Schedule prenatal appointments with your healthcare provider, start planning for childbirth, and enjoy the journey!
