IN THIS ARTICLE – The pitcher method allows you to make a batch of formula at once that can be used for up to 24 hours. Learn how to make a pitcher of each Enfamil formula.
For powder formula users, the pitcher method is basically meal prepping for your baby! Let’s explore how it works.
Making multiple servings of formula for your baby at one time is a great option for busy parents and families. Rather than mixing and measuring bottles of powder formula at each feeding, you can make your own ready-to-use servings at home! Keep in mind once you make a pitcher of formula, it must be consumed within 24 hours.
Most of our powder products can be made in 32 fluid ounce (one quart) batches, but special mixing instructions must be followed carefully. Instructions vary among products and need to be followed exactly to ensure your baby is getting proper nutrition.
Step 1: Wash your hands and pitcher
Make sure you thoroughly clean with soap and hot water. You want to take every step you can to avoid any unwanted germs when it comes to making your baby’s formula!
Step 2: Measure and Mix your Formula
Use the chart below to calculate how much powder to use with how much clean water.
Step 3: Cover and refrigerate your pitcher immediately
You can portion your pitcher into individual clean bottles to be ready for feeding time, or refrigerate in one large clean pitcher. Either way, be sure to use or discard your prepared formula within 24 hours.
Use these ratios to make approximately 1 quart or 32 fluid ounces of prepared formula.*
